Online Museum with OAC (Part 7): H.M. Queen Sunandha Kumariratana-the name of Suan Sunandha

          Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana was born on the grand palace on Saturday 10th November, 1860. She was the daughter of King Rama IV and Princess Piyamavadi Sri Bajarindra Mata. She was granted her first name as Royal Princess Sunandha Kumariratana. She had 6 siblings including; 1) Royal Prince Unakan Ananta Norajaya. 2) Royal Prince Devan Udayawongse. 3) Royal Princess Sunandha Kumariratana. 4) Royal Princess Savang Vadhana. 5) Royal Princess Saovabha Phongsri. 6) Royal Prince Svasti Sobhana

          Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana passed away when she was only 19 years 6 months 21 days in a bost capsize accident at Tambon Bangpood, Pakkred, Nonthaburi on 31 May 2423 B.E. She was pregnant at that time, causing unimaginable grieve to King Rama V. Upon her death, she was elevated her title as Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana.

          After the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana, King Rama V had royal command to build a lot of memorial to her. One of them was Suan Sunandha, Dusit Palace which could be infer that the name of this place was to memorize to Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana.
