Online Museum with OAC (Part 12):239th Year’s Anniversary of Rattanakosin Kingdom

          On April 21st, 2021 was 239th years anniversary of Rattanakosin Kingdom and Bangkok City. When King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke, the Great, the first reign, was crowned as the first king of the Chakri Dynasty. He moved the capital from Thonburi to the east bank of the Chao Phraya River and ordered to build it. The Royal Palace was to be the administrative centre of the country and the residence of the King. The construction of the Royal Palace began with the construction of the capital city in 1777. His Majesty King has pleased to perform the lifting ceremony of the city pillar on Sunday 21st, 1777 at 6:45 am. Bangkok was found as a capital with the name: 'Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayutthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit'.
