SSRU Invites All to Preserve Nakhon Pathom’s Culinary Wisdom at the "Khrua Padiwaradda: Naraphirom, the Charm of Thai Flavors" Event June 20–21, 2026

The Office of Arts and Culture at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), in collaboration with the Wat Maklua Community in Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom, cordially invites everyone to the "Khrua Padiwaradda: Naraphirom, the Charm of Thai Flavors – From Palace to Local Pathways" event.

This initiative aims to promote food culture and cultural heritage by showcasing the renowned ingredients of Nakhon Pathom. Under the concept "Khrua Padiwaradda," the event beautifully harmonizes precious local wisdom with the time-honored science of Royal Thai Cuisine.

## Event Activities & Highlights:

1. Exhibition: “Khrua Padiwaradda: The Flavors of Civilization”

An exhibition showcasing the historical journey and cultural significance of the region's culinary arts.

2. Culinary Workshops

  • "The Creative Process of Royal Thai Cuisine" (June 20, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
    • Learn the knowledge of Suan Sunandha's royal kitchen and participate in a hands-on workshop making "Yam Olan" (The Magnificent Royal Salad), an authentic recipe from the royal cookbook of Madame Changnet of the Suan Sunandha Palace. Hosted by culinary experts from the Office of Arts and Culture, SSRU.
  • "Creating Nakhon Pathom’s New Signature Dish" (June 21, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
    • Discover how to elevate local raw materials for commercial food businesses. Join the practical workshop for a new contemporary menu: "Nakhon Chai Si Pomelo Salad with Grilled River Prawn", led by celebrity guest Mr. Teeradon Supapunpinyo (Chef Jamyjames).

3. "Nam Phrik Khlong Yong" Cooking Competition

  • Date: June 21, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM (Registration from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
  • Compete for cash prizes and official certificates.

4. Academic Panel Discussion (Co-organized with ThaiPBS)

  • Date: June 21, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Topic: “An Old Bowl Tells the Story of Flavors” (ถ้วยเก่า เล่าเรื่องรส)
  • Guest Speakers:
    • Mr. Anusorn Tipayanon: Food Activist, writer, and commentator on the ThaiPBS show "Yok Phon Khon Nam Phrik".
    • Assistant Professor Juthamas Moonwong: Food Science Academic and lecturer in the Home Economics Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, SSRU.
    • Mrs. Yupa Sonto: Representative of the Bang Chang Community and a pioneer in reviving Bang Chang's food culture and chili paste recipes.
  • Moderator: Mr. Somrit Luechai, a prominent scholar in Southeast Asian history and culture.

5. Chef’s Table: Khrua Padiwaradda X Talayjai

  • Date: July 9–10, 2026 | From 6:00 PM onwards
  • A major highlight of this project features an exclusive Chef’s Table dining experience. Famous star and chef Jamyjames - Teeradon Supapunpinyo will craft a highly exclusive menu alongside special guests at Talayjai Dining, Bangna (located in The Glass Market project). More details will be announced soon.
