
Her Royal Highness
Princess Sai Savali Bhirom, Krom Phra
Sutthasininat Piyamaharajpadiwarada, the
chief consort of King Rama V, was born
on September 4, 1862, with the original
name Mom Chao Sai Ladavalya. She was the
daughter of Prince Ladavalya, Krom Muen
Phuminthraphakdi, the founder of the
"Ladavalya" royal family of
Ayutthaya (son of King Rama III and Chao
Chom Manda Em Noi), and Mom Chin
Ladavalya na Ayutthaya (later elevated
to Chao Chom Manda Chin). She was
affectionately called "Pao"
within the family.
Mom Chao Sai
Ladavalya resided at her father's
palace upon her birth, under the care of
Somdej Krom Phraya
Sudarattanarajaprayoon. She had two
elder sisters born to Chao Chom Manda
Chin, who also served as chief consorts
in the royal court. His Majesty King
Chulalongkorn, along with his three
consorts, were:
*Mom Chao Bua
Ladavalya, when she became a queen, held
the title of Her Royal Highness Princess
Ubolratana Narinaak. Later, she was
granted the title of Krom Khun
Attaworarajkalya. Relatives and
acquaintances referred to her as the
eldest Queen Consort or simply the
eldest.
*Mom Chao Piw Ladavalya,
when she became a queen consort, held
the title of Her Royal Highness Princess
Saovapak Nariratana. Relatives and
acquaintances referred to her as the
middle Queen Consort or simply the
middle.
