If ‘Salt’ is the crystal of time bestowed by nature upon humanity, “Kluea Samut: Live Arts and Performance” is the fusion of those crystals with breath and body. This exhibition explores a cultural ecosystem moving to the rhythm of the modern world.

From June 6 – 7, 2026, The Jim Thompson Art Center will be transformed into a dynamic intersection of Installation Art and Performing Arts, questioning the fragile yet powerful relationship between humans and the salt-farming way of life.

The heart of this showcase is the creation of “Living Sculptures” that dismantle the boundaries between visual and performing arts. This is a collaborative masterpiece by three visionary artists:

  • Wanasak Padungsestakit (Creative Director): Leading the audience to rediscover the cultural ecosystem of salt farms in Samut Songkhram through the lens of contemporary art, highlighting a "cycle" that encompasses not just nature, but spirit and survival.
  • Teerapon Sisung (Sculptor & Installation Artist): Translating the human-salt relationship through uniquely woven metal wire sculptures, symbolizing the physical architecture of an ecosystem waiting to be fulfilled.
  • Kawin Pichitkul (Choreographer & Performer): Transforming space into movement interpreted from the interaction between people, nature, salt farms, and science—where the body is not merely a performer but an integral part of a mobile sculpture.
